Questions
Where do we meet?
We meet at our retail shop in Boulder City 30 minutes prior to your rental time. From there, you will follow us in your
own vehicle down to the launching beach at Lake Mead. Driving directions and maps to our location
can be found on the Driving Directions page.
What is included during the trip?
Rentals include your paddlecraft, life vest, and paddle. Delivery service is also included
FREE of charge with every rental.
Do you offer any discounts?
Yes! We offer discounts to Las Vegas Meetup Group members, who receive $5 off any rental. Scout troops
and Church/Youth Groups
are also eligible for discounted rates of $5 per person. Please inquire at time of reservation.
Is there a minimum age requirement?
When you are renting gear, you are responsible for yourself. This is your decision and you should make it based upon your
skill level and preparedness, as well as you ability to handle emergencies. Shelter from the elements is sometimes unavailable,
and the desert is harsh. Consider this before bringing young children. That being said, many folks have a great time with the
entire family. Just use common sense.
What should I bring/wear?
Take a look at our packing list section, for a
complete outline of items to bring on your trip. If you have questions, don't hesitate to call our office. We will be happy
to answer any questions you have about clothing, places to paddle, etc.
When should I make a reservation?
At least 48 hours in advance, possibly earlier. Large groups should call as early as possible. Rentals are offered daily, but sometimes
on weekends or holidays, the entire fleet is rented out.
What if I finish early?
You can always give us a call and see if we can pick you up early. Chances are we can, but if it's not possible, you can just relax in
your car or on the beach until we get there.
What if it's too windy and I'm tired?
When renting equipment, you are acknowledging that you are experienced in the outdoors and have adequate paddling and self-rescue
skills. Desert Adventures cannot be held responsible for weather conditions, wind, rain, heat, or other elements of nature.
Keep in mind, you are choosing to venture into a huge open body of water. You should be prepared
to deal with emergencies on your own. There is NO RESCUE SERVICE for tired or weary paddlers. You are responsible for yourself.
If this make you nervous in any way, we suggest looking at our Guided Trips.
What if I have to cancel?
We have a 14 day cancellation policy. Cancellations made 2 weeks prior to departure date will receive a full refund.
Cancellations made within those dates will be issued a percentage of their refund, with absolutely no refunds or
rescheduling within 48 hours. If you must reschedule, we require 48 hours notice and rescheduling fees
will apply. Desert Adventures will not issue any refund for leaving a trip early.
Trips run rain or shine. Desert Adventures reserves the right to cancel trips due to weather or unsafe
conditions. In this case, we will reschedule, issue a credit, or refund money, depending on individual
circumstances. For more information see our Payment & Cancellation Policies
section, or call our offices.
