Backpacking Trip Hot Springs - 2 Days
As the weather cools down, it is time to heat things up with a backpacking trip. A 6-mile round-trip
hike down a volcanic canyon leads you to steamy hot springs where you can sit and relax. What better
way is there to spend a few days in Las Vegas?
Giant boulders present obstacles, and as you maneuver your way around them, tiny trickles of hot springs start
to reveal themselves. Ancient petroglyphs are carved into the walls, and depending on your route, you may be able
to see them if you watch closely.
You will descend nearly 800' in elevation before reaching your destination. Springtime brings colorful wildflowers,
and fall and winter temperatures give the hot springs an ethereal feel as steam rises from the surface.
Pitch your tent on the beach or in the canyon, and enjoy a hard-earned meal before retiring to a pool for a long soak.
The hot water relaxes tired muscles and washes all your cares away. Warm and toasty, crawl into your fluffy sleeping
bag to drift asleep under the stars.
Morning brings crisp air and a fresh new day. Relax and enjoy breakfast before packing up camp and heading
back up the trail toward civilization.
